Nowhere in Adam Kirsch’s Op-Ed essay in today’s New York Times does he address Elena Ferrante’s specific, stated reasons for wanting anonymity, which, as I noted in my last post, are puzzling. He raises all kinds of interesting issues, but they are not Ferrante’s issues as she has stated them.
