“Les Misérables” by Victor Hugo (post 10): Does Jean Valjean starve himself to death, erasing sin by refusing to eat loaf of bread he had stolen?

No medical cause of death is given, but Jean Valjean had not been eating.

Just as Javert’s sinner personality may have killed his saint personality, Jean Valjean’s saint personality may have killed his sinner personality.
