Now, although many people are self-critical, most of them don’t actually hear a voice in their head. But perhaps most readers of The New York Times Book Review do. Could that be true?


Voices heard by normal people are probably the alternate personalities of a normal version of multiple personality, which is relatively common in great fiction writers, and perhaps in their most avid readers, too.
