Multiple Personality: A Common Variety of Human Nature
Since most fiction writers and, probably, a substantial minority of the public, have a benign, sometimes useful form of multiple personality (what I call “multiple personality trait” as opposed to multiple personality disorder), it is common sense to view multiple personality as a common variety of human nature.
I am talking here of multiple personality in the strict sense — with memory gaps and voices, etc. — not just different moods or facets.
