Since “Annie Dillard” (post 6) was not born with the name “Annie,” is “Annie” merely a pen name or the name of her writing alternate personality?
Annie Dillard was born “Meta Ann Doak” (1).
How Alternate Personalities are Named
“Most personalities will have a name; in many cases, the names are some derivative of the legal name. So an MPD patent named Elizabeth Jane Doe might well have alternate personalities with the first names of Elizabeth, Lizzy, Lizzie, Liz, Betsy, Beth, Bets, Jane, Janie, Lizzie-Jane, and so on” (1, p. 116).

Concluding Comment: Obviously, for those who liked this book, I have nothing to say.
